GULF SHORES, Alabama - Hallie Donald (Mooreville), Gracie McCleskey (Caledonia) and Emily Robinson (Lafayette) each blasted home runs to spark No. 2 Jones County to an 11-3, five-inning win over Walters St. (Tennessee) here Friday in the Sun Chief Classic.
Robinson homered, doubled and singled and had two RBIs. Taylor Murray (Parklane Academy) doubled, singled and had two RBIs. Callie Venable (Clinton, Louisiana) had two singles. Kelsha Loftin (Mendenhall) added a double. Donald had three RBIs, while McCleskey and Loftin had two singles each.
Donald went the distance and got the win. She allowed three runs (two earned), seven hits, walked one and struck out two.
JCJC led 3-1 after one inning and 7-1 after four. After Walters St. scored twice in the top of the fifth, the Lady Bobcats ended it with four runs in the bottom of the inning.
JCJC improves to 6-0 with the win.
