GULF SHORES, Alabama – No. 2 Jones County Junior College racked up 16 hits en route to an 11-3, five-inning victory over Wallace St.-Hanceville (Alabama) here Saturday morning in the Sun Chief Classic.
Hallie Donald (Mooreville) blasted two solo home runs to pace the offense.
Kelsha Loftin (Mendenhall) had three singles, while
Sarah Brock (North Pike) and
Gracie McCleskey (Caledonia) each doubled and singled.
Callie Venable (Clinton, Louisiana) had two singles with
Taylor Murray (Parklane Academy) and
Nancy Williams (Southeast Lauderdale) each getting a triple.
McKennah Sikes (Van Buren, Arkansas) had a double, while
Emily Robinson (Lafayette) and
Faith Denton (Northwest Rankin) added singles.
Madison Burge (Harrison Central) went the first four innings and earned her second win of the weekend. She allowed three runs, 11 hits, walked none and struck out one. Donald pitched a perfect fifth inning.
JCJC trailed 1-0 after one, but led 6-2 after two and 9-2 after three.
JCJC is now 8-0 on the year.
