ELLISVILLE – The Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats whipped Hinds Community College 8-1 in tennis action here Wednesday afternoon at the Howard Sports Complex Tennis Courts.
JCJC won all of the doubles' points.
In No. 1 doubles,
Beth Owen (Stone) and
Anastasiia Bukhanova (Russia) beat Kayla Pendleton and Stefey Varon, 8-2.
April Rudolph (Northeast Jones) and
Mattie Mills (South Pontotoc) whipped Mary Neely Myers and Rutchelyn Elizar in No. 2 doubles, 8-1.
Brooke Cran (Wayne County) and
August Parker (Northeast Jones) defeated Brooke Myers and Jordan Warren, 8-4.
Owen beat Pendleton in No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-2. Rudolph rallied past Mary Neely Myers in No. 3 singles, 4-6, 6-2, 11-9. Mills downed Elizar in No. 4 singles, 7-5, 6-1. Parker beat Warren in No. 5 singles, 6-4, 6-2, and Cran defeated Brooke Myers in No. 6 singles, 6-4, 6-2.
Varon beat Bukhanova in No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-1.
The Lady Bobcats, 7-4, go to Northwest on Friday and host Mississippi Gulf Coast at 2 p.m. on Monday in its final home match of the year.
Hinds, 6-7, will host Holmes on Thursday.
