ELLISVILLE – The Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats fell 9-0 to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College here Monday afternoon at the Howard Sports Complex Tennis Courts.
In No. 1 doubles, Paulina Estrada and Bianca Buie defeated
Beth Owen (Stone) and
Anastasiia Bukhanova (Russia), 8-3. In No. 2 doubles, Katie Burrall and Jenna Lyons beat
Mattie Mills (South Pontotoc) and
August Parker (Northeast Jones), 8-5. In No. 3 doubles, Sarah McMillian and Jasmine Sartin downed
April Rudolph (Northeast Jones) and
Brooke Cran (Wayne County), 8-1.
Estrada beat Owen in No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-3. Buie defeated Bukhanova in No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-3. Burrall downed Rudolph in No. 3 singles, 6-3, 7-5. Sartin downed Mills in No. 4 singles, 7-5, 6-1. Lyons beat Cran in No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-1, and Jillianne Craft defeated Parker, 6-3, 6-3.
The Lady Bobcats, 8-5, end regular season play with a 3:15 p.m. Wednesday match at East Central.
MGCCC, 14-3, plays at Hinds on Wednesday.
The MACJC/Region 23 Tournament will be April 19-22 at MGCCC.
