ELLISVILLE – The Jones County Junior College Bobcats defeated Copiah-Lincoln, 8-1, here Wednesday afternoon at the Howard Sports Complex Tennis Courts.
The Lady Bobcats are now 2-1 on the year.
JCJC swept the doubles' matches.
Beth Owen (Stone) and
Anastasiia Bukhanova (Nakhodka, Russia) beat Gyselle Daza and Laura Vargas in No. 1 doubles, 8-3.
Kaylee McLaurin (Laurel Christian School) and
Mattie Mills (South Pontotoc) beat Bayli Battle and Susanna Ratcliff in No. 2 doubles, 8-3.
April Rudolph (Northeast Jones) and
Brooke Cran (Wayne County) downed Maddie Ogden and Chantel Quarles in No. 3 doubles, 8-4.
Bukhanova beat Vargas in No. 2 singles, 7-6, 6-4, Rudolph beat Quarles in No. 3 singles, 7-6 (4), 6-3, McLaurin whipped Ratcliff in No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-1, Mills downed Battle in No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0, and
August Parker (Northeast Jones) defeated Ogden in No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-0.
Owen lost to Daza in No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-1.
Jones will meet Christian Brothers University at 2 p.m. Friday at the Reservoir YMCA in Brandon. JCJC's next home match will not be until March 30 vs. Holmes.
Co-Lin hosts Hinds on March 24.
