ELLISVILLE –
Autumn Frost (East Webster) hit a pair of home runs to spark No. 1 Jones County Junior College to a 9-1, five-inning decision over Northeast Mississippi in game one of a doubleheader here Friday afternoon at Community Bank Park.
Northeast took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning when Jamia Kirk, Hannah Cox and Madison Davis singled.
The Lady Bobcats came back in the bottom of the third to take a 3-1 lead.
Brittany Hagwood (Enterprise) slapped a single to left and
Cori McCrary (Carroll Academy) reached on an error. After a
Kelsha Loftin (Mendenhall) sacrifice,
Kelly Byrd (Copiah Academy) hit a sacrifice fly to right to score Hagwood. Frost then hit her first home run of the game, a drive over the centerfield fence.
Jones then put the game away with a six-run, fourth inning.

Jessie Bumpous (Southaven) advanced to third on an error and scored on an infield hit by Hagwood. McCrary's single scored Hagwood and she would later score on a single by Byrd.
Frost then homered over the leftfield fence.
Karli Perque (Westwego, Louisiana) posted the victory to up her record to 9-0. She pitched five innings, allowed one run, four hits, one walk and struck out eight.
Frost homered twice and drove in four runs, while Byrd and Hagwood each had two singles. McCrary, Robinson and Hogue added singles.
Jessica Boyd went 3 2/3 innings and took the loss. She allowed nine runs (three earned), nine hits, walked none and struck out none. Kris Devers pitched 1/3 of an inning.
Tia Davis doubled for the Tigers with Kirk, Cox and Madison Davis added singles.
