RAYMOND – The Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats defeated Hinds Community College 6-3 here Thursday afternoon.
JCJC won two of the three doubles' points.
Kaylee McLaurin (Laurel Christian School) and
Mattie Mills (South Pontotoc) beat Mary Neely Myers and Rutchelyn Elizar in No. 2 doubles, 8-4.
April Rudolph (Northeast Jones) and
Brooke Cran (Wayne County) whipped Jordan Warren and Brooke Myers, 8-1, in No. 3 doubles. In No. 1 doubles, Hinds' Mariana Alvarez and Stefy Varon beat
Beth Owen (Stone) and
Anastasiia Bukhanova (Russia), 8-2.
Rudolph beat Mary Neely Myers in No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-4, and McLaurin defeated Elizar in No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-0. Mills whipped Warren in No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0, and
August Parker (Northeast Jones) downed Brooke Myers in No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-0.
Alvarez beat Owen in No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-4, and Varon beat Bukhanova in No. 2 singles, 7-5, 6-3.
In an extra match, Cran defeated Kayla Pendleton, 8-2.
The Lady Bobcats, 4-3, are scheduled to go to Itawamba on Saturday and travel to Copiah-Lincoln on Wednesday.
Hinds, 2-5, visits Copiah-Lincoln on Friday.
