GOODMAN – The Jones County Junior College shut out Holmes Community College, 9-0, here Tuesday afternoon.
JCJC did not lose a game in four of the six singles' matches.
Beth Owen (Stone) blanked Ashleigh Pope in No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Anastasiia Bukhanova shut out Lucy Oakes, 6-0, 6-0, in No. 2 singles. In No. 3 singles,
April Rudolph (Northeast Jones) beat Brittany Graham, 6-0, 6-0, and in No. 4 singles,
Kaylee McLaurin (Laurel Christian School) defeated Jessica May, 6-0, 6-0. In No. 5 singles,
Mattie Mills (South Pontotoc) downed Savanna Bell, 6-1, 6-3.
August Parker (Northeast Jones) won No. 6 singles by forfeit.
In No. 1 doubles, Owen and Bukhanova beat Pope and Graham, 8-1, and in No. 2 doubles, McLaurin and Mills whipped Oakes and May, 8-1. Rudolph and
Brooke Cran (Wayne County) won No. 3 doubles by forfeit.
The Lady Bobcats are now 3-3 on the season.
JCJC travels to Hinds on Thursday and Itawamba on Saturday.
Holmes goes to Northeast on Thursday.
