                     ELLISVILLE – Top-ranked Jones County Junior College pounded out 18 hits and whipped Southwest 17-0 in five innings in game two here Tuesday evening at Community Bank Park.
JCJC won the opener, 10-2 in five innings. Jones outhit Southwest 23-3 in the doubleheader.
The Lady Bobcats improve to 20-0 overall and 4-0 in the MACJC. The Lady Bobcats host Northwest for a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Friday. Both games will air on 
www.jcjc.tv.
Wednesday's scheduled doubleheader with John Wood College (Illinois) has been canceled and will not be made up.
Southwest, 8-13 overall and 4-2 in the division, hosts Mississippi Delta on Friday.
Jones took a 2-0 lead in the first when 
Kelsha Loftin (Mendenhdall) tripled, 
Kelly Byrd (Copiah Academ) doubled and Brittany Baty (Northeast Lauderdale) doubled.
JCJC put the game away in the second when they sent 14 batters to the plate, scored 11 runs and took a 13-0 lead.
Natalie Hogue (Harrison Central) led off the inning by reaching on an error and 
Taylor Murray (Parklane Academy) followed with a two-run home run. Brittany Hagwood (Enterprise) doubled and scored on a double by Loftin. Byrd followed with a double to score Loftin. 
Autumn Frost (East Webster) then lined a two-run home run to center to make it 8-0.
Baty singled, 
Emily Robinson (Lafayette) walked and Hogue doubled to left to score Baty. Murray's sacrifice fly to center scored Robinson and Hagwood's infield single scored Hogue. Cori McCrary (Carroll Academy) then hit a deep drive to center that hit on top of the fence and bounced over for another two-run home run.
Jones took a 15-0 lead in the third when Frost singled, 
Bailey Gilbert (Sylva-Bay Academy) walked and Hogue and Murray followed with RBI singles.
In the fourth, Loftin singled, 
Callie Venable (Clinton, Louisiana) walked and Frost singled to load the bases. Gilbert's walk forced courtesy runner 
Haylee Morse (Madison Central) home and Robinson's single scored Venable.
Amanda Holliday (Watson, Louisiana) allowed only one baserunner in five innings and got the win. She gave up a single to Kelcey Bremenkamp in the second inning. Holliday (6-0) notched four strikeouts.
Frost homered and singled twice, while Loftin tripled, doubled and singled. Murray homered, singled and drove in four runs, while Byrd doubled twice. Baty, Hogue, and Hagwood each had doubles and singles with McCrary getting a home run and Robinson adding a single.
Mikaela Smith went 1 1/3 innings, allowed six earned runs, walked none and struck out one. Harp and Jeney Hudson also pitched for SMCC.
