                     ELLISVILLE – 
Brittany Baty (Northeast Lauderdale) drove in six runs as No. 1 Jones County defeated Southwest 10-2 in five innings here Tuesday afternoon at Community Bank Park.
JCJC improves to 19-0 with the win.
JCJC took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when 
Cori McCrary (Carroll Academy), 
Kelsha Loftin (Mendenhall) was hit by a pitch and 
Autumn Frost (East Webster) walked to load the bases. Baty's groundout scored McCrary.
The Lady Bobcats made it 2-0 in the second when 
Kelly Byrd (Copiah Academy) reached on an error and eventually scored on a wild pitch.
Southwest tied it in the fourth when Miranda Magee reached on a bunt single and Jenna Duff hit a two-run home run.
JCJC regained the lead in the bottom of the fourth when Baty blasted a three-run home run to make it 5-2.
The Lady Bobcats ended the game in the bottom of the fifth.
Hogue singled and was replaced by courtesy runner 
Jessie Bumpous (Southaven). 
Taylor Murray (Parklane Academy) and 
Bailey Gilbert (Sylva-Bay Academy) walked to load the bases and McCrary walked to force a run home. Loftin hit a fly ball that was dropped in centerfield, allowing Murray to score. Byrd walked and Frost walked to drive in another run.
Baty then doubled into the rightfield corner to score two runs and end the game.
Karli Perque (Westwego, Louisiana) got the win. She allowed two runs, two hits, walked none and struck out eight as she improved to 6-0.
Baty homered and doubled, while McCrary, Loftin and Hogue added singles.
Rebecca Davis took the loss for Southwest. She allowed seven earned runs, three hits, walked seven and struck out two. She took over for starter Kassie Shipley, who left in the third inning after taking a line drive off her leg. Jordan Harp also pitched.
