COLUMBUS, Georgia – The top-rated Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats completed a 5-0 weekend here in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Classic.
JCJC beat Lansing Community College (Michigan) 8-0 in six innings Sunday afternoon.
It also marked the 300
th career victory for JCJC head coach
Chris Robinson, who is in his eighth season as head coach.

JCJC took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
Cori McCrary (Carroll Academy) reached on a bunt single and
Kelsha Loftin (Mendenhall) reached on a bunt single. After Loftin stole second,
Autumn Frost (East Webster) followed with a two-run single.
The Lady Bobcats scored four runs in the second inning.
Taylor Murray (Parklane Academy) reached on an error and McCrary singled. After a walk to Loftin, Murray scored on an error. McCrary scored on a wild pitch and
Kelly Byrd (Copiah Academy) followed with an RBI double. Frost then singled Byrd home.
JCJC made it 7-0 in the fifth when Murray singled and took second on a ground out. Murray stole third and scored when McCrary reached on an error.
Natalie Hogue (Harrison Central) closed the scoring in the sixth inning with a home run.
Haylee Morse (Madison Central) was the winning pitcher. Morse (4-0) tossed the first three innings, allowed no runs, two hits, walked none and struck out three.
Amanda Holliday (Watson, Louisiana) went the final three innings, allowed no runs, one hit, walked none and struck out one.
Frost singled twice and drove in three runs, while Hogue homered. Byrd doubled with McCrary, Loftin and Murray adding singles.
The Lady Bobcats, 18-0, return home Tuesday for 4 p.m. MACJC doubleheader vs. Southwest. They play a noon doubleheader on Wednesday against John Wood College (Illinois) and host Northwest in a 1 p.m. Friday doubleheader.
