WESSON – Jones County Junior College used a strong second half to rally past Copiah-Lincoln 73-62 here Monday night at Mullen Gymnasium.
Co-Lin led 28-26 at halftime and took a 35-26 lead early in the second half. JCJC came back to take a 52-47 lead midway through the second half.
Malik Henry (Terry), Mason Daniels (Atlanta, Georgia) and Winceton Edwards (Oak Grove) each had 18 points for the Bobcats. Henry and David Gaines, Jr. (Wayne County) each had 7 rebounds and Omar Steele (Laurel) had 6 rebounds. Michael Williams (Rayville, Louisiana) had 4 assists.
Jonathan Floyd had 18 points for Co-Lin. Damarius Brooks added 13 and Youry White finished with 12.
The Bobcats were 24-of-62 (4-of-17 from 3-point range) from the field for 39 percent. JCJC was 21-of-27 from the free throw line.
Co-Lin was 18-of-55 (6-of-25 from the 3-point line) for 33 percent. The Wolves were 20-of-24 from the free throw line.
JCJC outrebounded Co-Lin, 41-40.
The Bobcats are now 3-3 overall, 1-0 in the division.
The Wolves fall to 7-1 overall, 0-1 in the division.
JCJC visits Coahoma for an 8 p.m. game on Thursday. The game will air on www.coahomasports.com.
Co-Lin hosts Delgado (Louisiana) on Saturday.
