ELLISVILLE – The 20th-rated Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats stayed unbeaten with a 7-2 victory over Mississippi Gulf Coast here Tuesday afternoon at the Howard Sports Complex Tennis Courts.
The Lady Bobcats are now 12-0, while the Lady Bulldogs fall to 6-6.
JCJC swept the doubles' points.
Rachel Rodriguez and
Madison Currie beat Paulina Estrada and Karah Younger in No. 1 doubles, 8-5.
Claire Rounsaville and
Breanna Waller defeated Jasmine Sartin and Lexie Johnson in No. 2 doubles, 8-3.
April Rudolph and
Mattie Mills blanked Abby Smith and Anna Stevison in No. 3 doubles, 8-0.
Currie outlasted Sartin in No. 2 singles, 6-3, 1-6, 12-10. Rounsaville beat Younger in No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-3. Rudolph defeated Johnson in No. 4 singles, 6-4, 6-2. Mills downed Stevison in No. 5 singles, 7-5, 6-1.
MGCCC got wins in No. 1 singles, where Estrada beat Rodriguez, 7-6 (1), 6-3, and in No. 6 singles with Smith defeating Waller, 6-3, 0-6, 10-8.
JCJC visits Hinds for a 2 p.m. match on April 7 and will host Itawamba at 2 p.m. on April 12.
MGCCC goes to Copiah-Lincoln on April 6 and hosts Meridian on April 11.
