Lady Bobcats improve to 10-0 with win at Northeast

NEW ALBANY – The Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats improved to 10-0 by shutting out Northeast Mississippi 9-0 here Friday at BNA Bank Park.
Rachel Rodriguez and Madison Currie downed Annie Tumbleson and Starla Rogers 8-1 in No. 1 doubles. Claire Rounsaville and Breanna Waller beat Kerston Jumper and Katey Gardner 8-2 in No. 2 doubles. April Rudolph and Mattie Mills defeated Amber Norris and Cailin Holley in No. 3 doubles, 8-1.
Rodriguez blanked Tumbleson in No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Currie beat Jumper in No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-1. Rounsaville shut out Gardner in No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0, and Rudolph did the same to Gardner in No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Mills beat Norris in No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0, and Waller whipped Holley in No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
The Bobcats travel to Itawamba for a 10:30 a.m. match on Saturday. JCJC hosts Mississippi Gulf Coast at 2 p.m. on Feb. 5 and travels to Hinds at 2 p.m. on Feb. 7.
Northeast, 2-8 on the season, goes to Northwest on April 4 and hosts Itawamba on April 6.
