ELLISVILLE – The 6
th-ranked Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats ended MACJC play on a high note here Saturday afternoon at Community Bank Park.
The Lady Bobcats routed Coahoma 17-1 in five innings in game two to clinch the conference regular season crown outright. JCJC won the opener, 13-1 in five innings.
JCJC is now 37-6 overall and 26-2 in the league.
The Lady Bobcats will host the No. 8 team in the MACJC in a best-of-three first-round playoff series on April 22-23. Game 1 is tentatively set for 6 p.m. on April 22 with Game 2 tentatively slated for 1 p.m. on April 23. A third game, if necessary, would follow immediately after game two.
If JCJC wins that series, they would host the MACJC Tournament April 29-May 1.
The Lady Bobcats will end regular season play April 19 vs. Baton Rouge Community College (Louisiana). Those games will be at 2/4 p.m. at Central Private Academy in Baton Rouge.
It was "Sophomore Day" at Community Bank Park on Saturday as the Lady Bobcats sophomores were recognized after the games.
Those sophomores were

Rachel Hayes,
Jay Harris,
Juliana Rouse,
Ashley Valentine and
Tylesha Davis.
Lauren Welch went the distance and got the win.
She allowed five hits and struck out eight as she improved to 3-0.
The Lady Bobcats scored twice in the first inning when
Kalyn Watts reached on an error, stole second and scored on a double by
Jay Harris.
Brittany Baty's groundout scored Harris.
Jones put the game out of reach in the second inning when they sent 16 batters to the plate and scored 11 runs.
Ashley Valentine led off with a single and
Juliana Rouse followed with an RBI double.
Tylesha Davis walked and
Skyler McLain singled to right to load the bases.
Watts delivered a two-run single and Harris followed with an RBI single. Baty reached on an error, which allowed Watts to score, and
Natalie Hogue was hit by a pitch.
A
Rachel Hayes' sacrifice fly to right scored Harris and Valentine followed with an RBI double. Rouse's groundout scored Hogue.
Davis then drilled a two-run home run to make it 12-0. McLain was hit by a pitch, Watts walked, Harris was hit by a pitch and Baty was hit by a pitch to score McLain.
JCJC added four runs in the third.
Hogue and Hayes hit back-to-back home runs to start the inning and Valentine was hit by a pitch. Rouse then followed with a two-run home run.
Coahoma scored in the fifth when Jessica Haynes singled and Bri Gilliard reached on a bunt single. After Gwana Childs reached on a fielder's choice, Adrianna Bilbro's single scored Haynes.
Valentine doubled and singled twice for the Lady Bobcats, while Rouse homered and doubled. Davis homered and singled, Harris doubled and singled and McLain singled twice. Hayes and Hogue each homered and Watts had a single.
Lottie Dawson, Ann Jones, Haynes, Gilliard and Bilbro singled for Coahoma.
Dawson was the starter and loser. She ended up pitching 3 2/3 innings, allowing 12 runs (six earned), 11 hits, two walks and she hit a batter. Shunekqua Mungon pitched 1/3 of an inning, gave up five earned runs, three hits, walked one and hit four batters.
