ELLISVILLE – The 20th-ranked Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats are now 14-0 after a 7-2 win over Itawamba here Tuesday afternoon at the Howard Sports Complex Tennis Courts.
JCJC won two of the three doubles' points.
Rachel Rodriguez and
Madison Currie won No. 1 doubles over Jordan Roberts and Ivy Robbins, 8-5.
April Rudolph and
Mattie Mills edged Andria Barnes and Meredith Lee in No. 3 doubles, 9-7.
ICC's Kacey Byrd and Madison Scott defeated
Claire Rounsaville and
Breanna Waller in No. 2 doubles, 8-3.
Rodriguez beat Roberts in No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-3. Currie rallied past Barnes in No. 2 singles, 4-6, 7-6 (4), 10-8. Rounsaville whipped Byrd in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-1. Rudolph defeated Scott in No. 4 singles, 6-4, 6-4. Waller beat Lee in No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-3.
Robbins downed Mills in No. 5 singles, 7-6 (3), 6-2.
JCJC's
C.J. King beat Danielle May in an extra match, 8-2.
The Lady Indians are now 8-3 on the season.
JCJC is scheduled to play its final home regular season match at 2 p.m. on April 14 vs. Copiah-Lincoln and will end the regular season at 11 a.m. on April 16 at Meridian.
Itawamba hosts Meridian on April 15 to end regular season play.
The MACJC/Region 23 Tournament will be April 20-23 at Mississippi Gulf Coast.
