GOODMAN – The 20th-ranked Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats mproved to 9-0 with a 9-0 decision over Holmes here Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Bobcats did not lose a set in winning the three doubles' points with each team winning by an 8-0 score.
Rachel Rodriguez and
Madison Currie won No. 1 doubles over Allie Fudge and Kaylan Cooper,
Claire Rounsaville and
Breanna Waller took No. 2 doubles over Ashleigh Pope and Brittany Graham and
April Rudolph and
Mattie Mills beat Oddysey Brewer and Savanna Bell in No. 3 doubles.
It was more of the same in singles.
Rodriguez whipped Fudge, 6-0, 6-1, in No. 1 singles, Currie blanked Cooper, 6-0, 6-0, in No. 2 singles, Rounsaville whipped Pope, 6-0, 6-0, in No. 3 singles, Rudolph downed Brenda Arvizu in No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0, Mills defeated Brewer in No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0, and Waller downed Bell in No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-1.
JCJC's
C.J. King beat Graham in an extra match, 8-1.
JCJC travels to Northeast for a 1:30 p.m. match on April 1 and to Itawamba for a 10:30 a.m. match on April 2. The Bobcats will host Mississippi Gulf Coast at 2 p.m. on April 5.
Holmes, 0-15, hosts Copiah-Lincoln on April 5.
