SENATOBIA – The 20th-ranked Jones County Junior College women's tennis team remained undefeated with an 8-1 victory over Northwest here Saturday afternoon at the Ranger Outdoor Complex.
The Lady Bobcats are now 7-0, while Northwest falls to 0-3.
In No. 1 doubles, Rachel Rodriguez and
Madison Currie beat Katie Burrall and Piper Johnson, 8-5.
Claire Rounsaville and
Breanna Waller blanked Emily Newman and Emily Standard in No. 2 doubles, 8-0.
April Rudolph and
Mattie Mills whipped Kendal McCoy and Kaylan Myers in No. 3 doubles, 8-1.
Rodriguez downed Burrall in No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-4. Rounsaville defeated Newman in No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Rudolph beat Standard in No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-1. Mills blanked McCoy in No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Waller whipped Myers in No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
In No. 2 singles, Johnson beat Currie, 7-5, 6-3.
Northwest is now 0-3 on the season.
JCJC hosts Meridian at 2 p.m. on March 22 and travels to Holmes on March 29.
Northwest visits Northeast on March 22.
