BOONEVILLE –
Autumn Frost homered twice to lead No. 5 Jones County Junior College to a 13-1 win over Northeast in game two here Saturday afternoon at David Carnell Memorial Field.
JCJC is now 23-4 overall and leads the MACJC at 12-0. The Lady Bobcats have won seven straight games.
Northeast drops to 10-15 and 4-8.
Frost drove in five runs and
Amanda Holliday picked up her ninth victory of the season.
Holliday, 9-2, went six innings, allowed one earned run, four hits, walked one and struck out five.
Haylee Morse pitched the final inning and allowed no hits.
JCJC took a 4-0 lead in the second inning.
Natalie Hogue led off with a walk and was replaced by courtesy runner
Jay Harris. After
Amanda Holliday sacrificed, Frost followed with a two-run home run to leftfield.
Tylesha Davis and
Brittany Hagwood singled and
Cori McCrary's single scored both runners.
The Lady Tigers made it 4-1 in the third, but Jones came back with two runs in the fourth.
Davis walked and went to second on a passed ball. Hagwood followed with a bunt. The ball was thrown away, allowing Davis to score. Hagwood stole second and scored on McCrary's double.
Jones closed the game with seven runs in the seventh inning.
Kelly Byrd led off with a double and
Brittany Baty singled. Hogue's fielder's choice scored Byrd. Holliday singled to score courtesy runner

Frost then followed with a three-run home run to make it 11-1.
Jessie Bumpous drew a walk and
Kalyn Watts singled. Bumpous scored on an error and Watts later came home on a passed ball.
Frost had the two homers, while Byrd doubled and singled twice and McCrary doubled and singled. Watts, Baty, Holliday, Davis and Hagwood added singles.
Hannah Cox, Madison Davis, Moesha Phillips and Abigail McCauley singled for Northeast.
Jessica Boyd was the starter and loser for the Lady Tigers. She pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowed eight runs (three earned), eight hits, five walks and posted six strikeouts. Rebekah Morris allowed five runs and four hits in 2/3 of an inning.
The Lady Bobcats will host Mississippi Gulf Coast in a 4 p.m. doubleheader on March 22. They travel to Northwest on March 24 and to Mississippi Delta on March 25.
Northeast goes to Holmes on March 22.
