ELLISVILLE – The 17
th-rated Jones County Junior College women's tennis team is now 6-0 on the season after whipping Holmes 9-0 here Thursday afternoon at the Howard Sports Complex/Bobcat Tennis Courts.
The Lady Bobcats had little trouble in recording the win.
In No. 1 doubles, Rachel Rodriguez and
Madison Currie beat Allie Frudge and Brittany Graham, 8-1.
Claire Rounsaville and
Breanna Waller took No. 2 doubles over Ashleigh Pope and Brenda Arvizu, 8-0.
April Rudolph and
Mattie Mills blanked Oddysey Brewer and Savannah Bell in No. 3 doubles, 8-0.
Rodriguez whipped Frudge in No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-2. Currie won in No. 2 singles over Graham, 6-0, 3-0 (retired). Rounsaville whipped Pope in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-1. Rudolph blanked Arvizu in No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Mills defeated Brewer in No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Waller downed Bell in No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
The Holmes women are now 0-10.
The Bobcats will head to Northwest for a 2 p.m. match on March 19 and will host Meridian at 2 p.m. on March 22.
Holmes hosts Itawamba on March 21.
