DECATUR – The 17th-rated Jones County Junior College women's tennis team blanked East Central 9-0 here Wednesday afternoon.
JCJC, 5-0, was impressive in remaining unbeaten on the season.
Rachel Rodriguez beat Chaney Mills in No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-1;
Madison Currie defeated Brooke Payne in No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-0;
Claire Rounsaville downed Andi McCrimon in No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-2;
April Rudolph beat Samantha McCrimon in No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-3;
Mattie Mills whipped Emily Dykeman in No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-3 and
Breanna Waller defeated Hannah Payne in No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-3.
Rodriguez and Currie downed Mills and Payne in No. 1 doubles, 8-6. Rounsaville and Waller beat Andi and Samantha McCrimon in No. 2 doubles, 8-3, and Rudolph and Mills defeated Payne and Dykeman in No. 3 doubles, 8-5.
JCJC is scheduled to host Holmes at 2 p.m. on March 17, travel to Northwest at 2 p.m. on March 19 and host Meridian at 2 p.m. on March 22.
The Lady Warriors are now 2-8 and will host Northeast on March 29.
