WESSON – The Jones County Junior College women's tennis team had an impressive day on the courts here Saturday afternoon.
JCJC blanked Copiah-Lincoln Community College, 9-0, and improved their record to 3-0 on the season.
Rachel Rodriguez and
Madison Currie beat Brandi McInnis and Chantel Quarles in No. 1 doubles, 8-1.
Claire Rounsaville and
Breanna Waller defeated Susanna Ratcliff and Bayli Battle in No. 2 doubles, 8-3.
April Rudolph and
Mattie Mills won No. 3 doubles by default.
Rodriguez won No. 1 singles by default. Currie beat McInnis 6-0, 6-3 in No. 2 singles. Rounsaville defeated Quarles in No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-2. Rudolph downed Ratcliff in No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-1. Mills beat Battle in No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-2. Waller whipped Julie Kramer in No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
Co-Lin falls to 1-1 on the season.
The Bobcats will travel to Meridian for a 2 p.m. match on Tuesday. Co-Lin visits East Central on Tuesday.
