ELLISVILLE – The No. 17 Jones County Junior College women's tennis team cruised to a victory here Thursday afternoon at the Howard Sports Complex Tennis Courts.
The No. 17 Lady Bobcats blanked East Central, 9-0.
In No. 1 singles,
Raquel Rodriguez beat Chaney Mills, 6-1, 6-2, while
Madison Currie won No. 2 singles over Brooke Payne, 6-1, 6-1.
Claire Rounsaville won No. 3 singles over Andi McCrimon, 6-1, 6-2 and
April Rudolph blanked Samantha McCrimon in No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Mattie Mills beat Emily Dykeman in No. 5 singles, 6-3, 6-3, and
Breanna Waller downed Hannah Payne in No. 6 singles, 7-5, 6-2.
Rodriguez and Currie won No. 1 doubles over Chaney Mills and Brooke Payne, 8-2. Rounsaville and Waller took No. 2 doubles over McCrimon and McCrimon, 8-5 and Rudolph and
Mattie Mills beat Dykeman and Hannah Payne in No. 3 doubles, 8-4.
The Lady Bobcats are now 2-0, while the Lady Warriors are 1-4.
JCJC, 2-0, will go to Copiah-Lincoln for a 1 p.m. match on Saturday.
East Central, 1-4, hosts Hinds on Friday.
