Watts paces JCJC to 8-0 victory

MOBILE, Alabama – Kalyn Watts had a big game for Jones County Junior College in an 8-0 win over the Spring Hill College Junior Varsity.
Kalyn Watts homered, doubled, singled and drove in three runs to lead the Lady Bobcats.
Brittany Baty added a pair of singles, while Kelly Byrd, Ashley Valentine, Tylesha Davis and Brittany Hagwood added singles.
Starter Amanda Holliday posted the win, upping her record to 2-1.
She went 3 2/3 innings, did not allow a hit, struck out eight and walked one. Haylee Morse pitched 1 1/3 innings and gave up one hit. Lauren Welch pitched the final two innings, allowed two hits, walked one and struck out two.
CJC is now 8-3 and will host Baton Rouge Community College in a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Sunday.
