EUNICE, Louisiana – The 7
th-ranked Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats dropped a 6-2 decision to 10th-ranked LSU-Eunice here Saturday afternoon at Lady Bengal Field.
The Lady Bengals led 1-0 after one inning, 2-0 after three, 5-0 after five and 6-0 after six.
JCJC scored twice in the top of the seventh.
With one out,
Brittany Baty and
Natalie Hogue singled and
Amanda Holliday followed with a run-scoring single.
Ashley Valentine's ground out drove in a run.
Holliday went six innings and took the loss. She allowed six runs (four earned), 12 hits and walked one.
Baty, Hogue, Holiday and
Shelby Nelson each singled for JCJC.
Abigail Leonards went the distance and got the win. She allowed four hits, walked one and struck out two.
Darby Bishop singled three times for LSU-Eunice, while Jeannemarie Angelie and Allie Daigle had two singles each. Jessica Thomas doubled, while Madison Edmonston, Rebecca Skains, Molly Wilson and Abby Mondy added singles.
JCJC, 2-1, will host Jefferson Davis Community College (Alabama) in a 3 p.m. doubleheader on Tuesday at Community Bank Park. The games will air on

LSU-Eunice, 14-1, goes to Gulf Shores, Alabama, for a tournament on Feb. 19-20.
