The game then settled into a pitcher's duel.
MGCCC got a leadoff double from Catelyn Williams in the fourth, but could not score. JCJC got a leadoff double from Holifeld in the bottom of the fourth and could not score.
In the fifth, the Lady Bobcats got a single from Kimberly Nilsson and Kalyn Watts reached on an error to put two on with one out. But Harris was retired on a sacrifice and Dew hit a hot shot back at Lee, who knocked the ball down, picked it up and threw Dew out at first to end the inning.
In the sixth, Kayleigh Williams replaced Hayes in the circle for JCJC.
Theriot drew a leadoff walk and Melendrez reached on a bunt single while trying to sacrifice. Catelyn Williams then sacrificed to put runners at second and third with one out.
Brittany Cooley's groundout to second base then drove in the run.
JCJC was retired in order in the bottom of the sixth.
In the seventh, Rebecca Monceaux led off with a single to center and was replaced by pinch-runner Lindy Tabor. Hailee Kolwyck then attempted to sacrifice, but MGCCC threw to second to get the force out on Tabor.
Nilsson then grounded into a 5-4-3 double play to end the game.
