19th-ranked Lady Bobcats blank Holmes, 9-0

GOODMAN – The 19th-ranked Jones County Junior College women's tennis team blanked Holmes Community College 9-0 here Wednesday afternoon.
The Lady Bobcats are now 12-0 on the seson.
Jenna Hegwood and Shelby Gilliland took No. 1 doubles over Jennifer Rule and Allie Frudge, 8-1. Claire Rounsaville and Breanna Waller beat Anna Clair Shores and Lori Nesbitt in No. 2 doubles, 8-1. Krissy Stutts and Tymeka Hunter won No. 3 doubles by forfeit.
Hegwood blanked Rule in No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Gilliland whipped Frudge in No. 2 singles, 6-1 6-1. Rounsaville defeated Shores in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-1. Stutts downed Katherine Wood 6-0, 6-1 in No.4 singles. Hunter beat Nesbitt in No. 5 singles, 6-3, 6-1. Caitlin Taylor won No. 6 singles by forfeit.
The Bobcats are scheduled to travel to Itawamba for a 1 p.m. match on Friday. They go to Co-Lin on Tuesday.
Holmes visits East Central on April 9.
