ELLISVILLE – The No. 1 Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats had to hang on for a 5-4 victory over Copiah-Lincoln in game two of a doubleheader here Friday afternoon at Community Bank Park.
JCJC led 5-0 going into the seventh inning before Co-Lin scored four runs and had the tying run thrown out at home plate.
The Lady Bobcats are now 14-0 overall, 4-0 in the MACJC South Division and are scheduled to host Hinds at 1/3 p.m. on Monday.
Co-Lin drops to 8-6 overall, 2-4 in league play. The Wolfpack travel to Meridian on Saturday.
JCJC led 5-0 in the seventh before Co-Lin scored four runs on three hits and an error.
Jessica Crum and Taylor walked for Co-Lin and Brittany Barbay singled to load the bases with one out. Julian Johnson reached on an error to allow one run to score.
After a pop out for the second out, a single by Greta Carley made it 5-2 and a single by Adrienne Wallace made it 5-3.

JCJC took a 4-0 lead in the second – again after the first two batters were retired.
Tylesha Davis hit her second home run of the day to make it 1-0.
Rachel Hayes drew a walk and
Karla Santiago and
Jay Harris followed with singles to load the bases. An error allowed Hayes and Santiago to score and another error allowed Harris to score.
Lauren Holifield then hit her second home run of the day in the third inning to make it 5-0. It was her 11
th home run of the season, which leads NJCAA Division II.
Teri Richey, 6-0, posted the win. She went 6 2/3 innings, allowed four runs (none earned), two hits, three walks and notched five strikeouts.
Kayleigh Williams got the game's final out. She allowed three hits.
Holifield and Davis each homered for JCJC, while Watts, Seale, Hayes, Santiago and Harris added singles.
Wallace, Brasier, Crum, Barbay and Carley each singled for Co-Lin.
Lucy Lewis took the loss for Co-Lin. She allowed five runs, six hits and struck out one in 2 1/3 innings. Kamry Creel allowed two hits over the final 3 2/3 innings.
