ELLISVILLE – The Jones County Junior College women's tennis team blanked Holmes 9-0 here Friday afternoon at the Howard Sports Complex Tennis Courts.
The Lady Bobcats improved to 10-0 the win.
JCJC hosts Meridian at 2 p.m. on Monday and will travel to Holmes on Wednesday.
Jenna Hegwood and
Shelby Gilliland beat Jennifer Rule and Allie Frudge in No. 1 doubles, 8-1. In No. 2 doubles,
Claire Rounsaville and
Breanna Waller defeated Anna Clair Shores and Lori Nesbitt, 8-1.
Krissy Stutts and
Tymeka Hunter won No. 3 doubles by forfeit.
Hegwood whipped Rule in No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Gilliland downed Frudge in No. 2 doubles, 6-0, 6-1. Rounsaville beat Shores in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Stutts blanked Katherine Wood in No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Hunter defeated Nesbitt in No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-1.
Caitlin Taylor won No. 6 singles by forfeit.
