DECATUR – 
Rachel Hayes tossed a three-hitter and struck out nine to lead No. 1 Jones County Junior College to a 4-0 victory over East Central in game one of a doubleheader here Friday afternoon.
JCJC is now 24-1 overall and 14-1 in the MACJC South Division. ECCC falls to 24-7 and 11-4.
JCJC got all of the runs it would need in the top of the first inning.
Kalyn Watts led off with a single, 
Rebecca Monceaux sacrificed and reached on an error. 
Tori Dew then drew a walk to load the bases. Watts scored on a steal of home and 
Lauren Holifield's groundout scored Monceaux to make it 2-0.
The Lady Bobcats added two more runs in the fifth.
Shelby Nelson walked and with two outs, Watts doubled to score Nelson. Monceaux then singled Watts home.
Hayes improved to 4-1 with the win.
Watts doubled and singled for JCJC, while Monceaux and 
Kimberly Nilsson added singles.
Lacey Hill went the distance and took the loss. She allowed four runs (three earned), four hits, walked three and struck out five.
Maegan Ellis, Caitlyn Aldous and Christen Benson singled for ECCC.
