RAYMOND – The Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats are now 8-0 on the season.
JCJC defeated Hinds Community College 8-1 here Monday afternoon.
JCJC visits Mississippi Gulf Coast for a 2 p.m. match on Thursday and will host Holmes at 1 p.m. on Friday.
Hinds travels to Tupelo to meet Itawamba on Friday and Northeast Mississippi on Saturday.
In No. 1 doubles,
Jenna Hegwood and
Shelby Gilliland defeated Brittany DeCamp and Kelly Carlson, 8-3.
Krissy Stutts and
Tymeka Hunter beat Haley Hicks and Aygul Brown in No. 3 doubles, 8-2. In No. 2 doubles,
Claire Rounsaville and
Breanna Waller lost to Rachel Rhett and Brittany Weathersby of Hinds, 8-6.
Hegwood defeated Rhett in No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-2. Gilliland edged DeCamp in No. 2 singles, 3-6, 6-3, 10-6. Rounsaville beat Weathersby in No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-2. Stutts downed Carlson in No. 4 singles, 6-4, 6-0. Hunter whipped Hicks in No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-2 and
Caitlin Taylor defeated Brown in No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-1.
In an extra match, JCJC's
