SUMMIT – Top-ranked Jones County Junior College crushed four home runs in defeating Southwest Mississippi 11-3 in game one of a doubleheader here Tuesday afternoon.
JCJC improves to 23-0 overall, 13-0 in the MACJC South Division. SMCC falls to 12-13 and 2-9.

Brittany Seale had the roundtrippers.
The Lady Bobcats scored four runs in the top of the first inning.
Watts reached on a bunt single, advanced on an error and was sacrificed to third by
Rebecca Monceaux. Dew reached on an error, allowing Watts to score.
Holifield then blasted her nation's leading 16
th home run of the year over the leftfield wall to give JCJC a 3-0 lead.
Seale then walked and was replaced by courtesy runner
Jay Harris.
Kimberly Nilsson followed with a single and
Kayleigh Williams reached on a fielder's choice.
Tylesha Davis' sacrifice fly scored Harris.
Southwest answered with three runs in the bottom of the first.
Austin Pruitt singled, was sacrificed to second and then scored on a Jessie Penton single. Sarah Roberts then hit a two-run home run.
It remained 4-3 until the fifth inning when the Lady Bobcats scored three runs.
Dew, the reigning MACJC Player of the Week, led off the inning with her seventh home run of the season. After Holifield walked, Seale homered to make it 7-3.
JCJC made it 8-3 in the sixth when Dew and Holifield each singled. Dew took third on a fielder's choice and scored on the front end of a double steal.
The Lady Bobcats added three runs in the seventh.
Nilsson led off with a walk. With two outs, Harris reached on a bunt single and Watts then followed with a three-run home run.
Williams started, went the first three innings and got the win. She allowed three runs, six hits, walked none and struck out one.
Rachel Hayes pitched the final four innings and allowed no hits. She struck out five and walked none.
Watts and Holifield each homered and singled twice, while Dew and Seale each homered and singled once. Nilsson and Harris added singles.
Roberts homered and singled for Southwest, while Pruitt singled twice. Penton and Jessica Pipkens added singles.
Maddy Teague took the loss. She went four innings, giving up seven runs (five earned), eight hits and two walks. Leann Jackson pitched two innings, allowed one run, two hits and allowed two walks. Keely Fortenberry pitched an inning, giving up two runs and two hits.
