ELLISVILLE – The Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats blanked Copiah-Lincoln 9-0 here Friday afternoon at the Howard Sports Complex Tennis Courts.
The JCJC team remained unbeaten at 7-0 with the victory.
Jenna Hegwood and
Shelby Gilliland claimed No. 1 doubles over Madison Warren and Carly Riley, 8-1.
Claire Rounsaville and
Breanna Waller took No. 2 doubles over Allie Dear and Caroleah Brister, 8-4.
Krissy Stutts and
Tymeka Hunter won No. 3 doubles over Carlianne Alderman and Brandi McInnis, 8-3.
Hegwood beat Warren in No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-2. Gilliland defeated Dear in No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-3. Rounsaville beat McInnis in No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-0. Stutts whipped Brister in No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-1. Hunter downed Alderman in No. 5 singles, 6-4, 6-2.
Caitlin Taylor went three sets to beat Riley in No. 6 singles, 6-2, 3-6, 10-5.
The Lady Wolves fall to 1-3 on the year.
The Lady Bobcats go to Hinds for a 2 p.m. match on Monday and visit Mississippi Gulf Coast on Thursday. The next home match will be at 1 p.m. on March 27 vs. Holmes.
Co-Lin travels to Holmes on Wednesday.
