ELLISVILLE – The 11
th-ranked Jones County Junior College Bobcats successfully opened the 2015 season here Saturday on a beautiful day at Community Bank Park.
Daneil Goff gave the Bobcats six solid innings as the starter and Bobcats defeated Jefferson Davis Community College (Alabama), 8-1.
Goff, a sophomore from George County, went six innings, allowed one run, six hits, walked one and struck out two. The Bobcat defense turned three double plays in the first four innings to help Goff's cause.

Tyler Schwaner pitched two innings, allowed no hits and struck out one. Greene County sophomore
Perry Turner finished up, pitching the ninth inning, allowing no hits and fanning one.
JCJC took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when South Jones' sophomore
Carter Polles was hit by a pitch, stole second base, was balked to third and scored on a two-out single by Shreveport, Louisiana, redshirt freshman and Ole Miss transfer

The Bobcats took a 4-0 lead in the third.

Clint Sasser singled, stole second and scored on Manichia's single to right. Humboldt, Tennessee, sophomore
Chase Hensley then doubled Manichia home and Polles followed with another run-scoring double.
The Warhawks got on the scoreboard in the top of the fifth inning when Brandon Goins doubled and scored on Greg Cianglotto's single.
JCJC got that run back in the bottom of the fifth when Madison Central sophomore
Chris Morgan led off with a double and scored on Manichia's fielder's choice.
The Bobcats made it 7-1 in the sixth.

Chris Richardson reached on an infield single and Morgan singled. Richardson would later score on a wild pitch and Sasser singled Morgan home.
JCJC closed the scoring in the seventh when Hensley reached on an error, was sacrificed to second by Polles and scored on D'Iberville freshman
Tyler Schankin's single.
Morgan doubled and singled to pace the Bobcats, while Sasser, Manichia and Attaway had two singles each. Hensley and Polles had doubles, while Schankin and Richardson had singles.
Brandon Davis doubled and singled for JDCC, while Goins doubled. Dake Rivers, Cianglotto and Brandon Bilek added singles.
Tyler Joyner started and took the loss. He went three innings, allowed four runs, five hits, walked none, hit one and struck out three. Riley Hodge then went 3 2/3 innings, allowed four runs, five hits, walked two, hit one and struck out three. Chase Laney pitched the final 1 1/3 innings and allowed no runs or hits.
