ELLISVILLE – The Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats blanked Hinds 9-0 here Thursday afternoon on a cold day at the Howard Sports Complex Tennis Courts.
The Lady Bobcats are now 3-0 and will host East Central at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
In No. 1 doubles, JCJC's
Jenna Hegwood and
Shelby Gilliland beat Rachel Rhett and Kaitlyn Adcox, 8-0.
Claire Rounsaville and
Breanna Waller defeated Brittany Weathersby and Kelly Carlson 8-1 in No. 2 doubles.
Krissy Stutts and
Tymeka Hunter downed Haley Hicks and Aygul Brown in No. 3 doubles, 8-0.
Hegwood defeated Weathersby in No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-0. In No. 2 singles, Gilliland edged Rhett, 4-6, 6-1, 10-7. Rounsaville shut out Adcox in No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Stutts beat Carlson in No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-1. Hunter beat Hicks in No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-1.
Caitlin Taylor downed Brown in No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-1.
Hinds falls to 0-3 on the season and will host Holmes on Friday.
