MERIDIAN – The 15th-ranked Jones County Junior College Bobcats defeated Meridian Community College 69-59 here Thursday night at Graham Gymnasium at Redgate Court.
JCJC broke a 9-9 tie early and went on to a 27-20 halftime lead.
The Bobcats maintained that margin for the rest of the game, leading 39-31 with 13 minutes left and 55-45 with just over three minutes remaining.
Bryce Jones and
Rodrigus Palmer had 15 points each for the Bobcats, now 16-3 overall and 9-3 in the division.
Zeb Rice added 12 and
Bryce Perry had 10.
Christopher White had 8 points and 10 rebounds, while
Albert Goss and
Bryce Perry had 7 rebounds each. Jones finished with 6 steals.
Meridian falls to 8-12 overall, 2-10 in division play.
JCJC will play its final home game of the season at 7:30 p.m. on Monday at A.B. Howard Gymnasium against Southwest Mississippi. It will be "Sophomore Night" for the Bobcats.
