Box Score 1 FULTON – The No. 24 Jones College volleyball team picked up three wins in four matches at the Itawamba Crossover Tournament Friday and Saturday, closing out the two-day event with three consecutive victories.
MATCH ONE
The Bobcats (3-1 overall) opened the tournament Friday with a 3-0 loss to Bevill State Community College (5-1), falling 25-22, 25-20 and 25-20.
MATCH TWO
Jones responded later in the day with a 3-1 victory over Dyersburg State Community College (0-5). The Bobcats took the opening two sets, 25-20 and 25-16, before Dyersburg State extended the match with a 25-23 win in the third. Jones answered with a 25-19 victory in the fourth to close out the match.
MATCH THREE
The Bobcats carried that momentum into Saturday, rallying for a 3-1 win over Pellissippi State Community College (0-4). After dropping the opening set 25-13, Jones answered with three straight wins, including a dominant 25-7 third set. The Bobcats won the second and fourth sets by identical 25-22 scores.
MATCH FOUR
Jones wrapped up the weekend with another 3-1 victory, this time against Northwest Shoals Community College (2-3). The Bobcats won the opener 25-21 before Northwest Shoals evened the match with a 25-18 win in the second. Jones controlled the final two sets, 25-18 and 25-15, to finish the tournament 3-1.
The Bobcats totaled 185 kills while hitting .238 across 15 sets during the tournament. Jones also recorded 174 assists, 30 service aces, 192 digs and 21 total blocks.
LEADING THE WAY
Selah Sandridge (Madison; Madison-Ridgeland Academy) paced the Bobcat attack with a team-high 38 kills. She also contributed 41 digs and seven service aces.
Izzi Barnes (Gulfport) finished with 36 kills and hit a team-best .448, committing just six errors on 67 attacks.
Myah Favre (Pass Christian; Our Lady Academy) added 35 kills and finished with a .244 hitting percentage.
Addyson Sides (Central, La.; Central Private) recorded 25 kills while adding 15 digs and three service aces.
Amaya Wilson (Olive Branch; North Point Christian) contributed 24 kills and led the Bobcats with eight total blocks.
Claire Wicker (Oxford) directed the Jones offense with 152 assists, averaging 10.13 per set. She also finished the tournament with eight service aces and 37 digs.
Olivia Guth (Poplarville; Lakeshore) led the Bobcat defense with 52 digs, averaging four per set, while adding four service aces.

Jones travels to Poplarville on Wednesday, Aug. 26 to face Pearl River. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
