TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – No. 14 Jones College got fantastic pitching for 16 innings Saturday and used a timely four-run frame in the final game of the series to win two of three at NJCAA DI No. 23 Shelton State.
All three games of the weekend were decided by single runs as well as the last six overall between the two teams.
Jones improved to 15-5 and dropped Shelton State, a World Series participant last year, to 7-7.

A Slade Sullivan RBI-single in the second inning was the only run of the game as both
Chase Russell and the Bucs' Eli Driskell dueled it out on the mound.
Russell tied a career-high going eight innings and allowing four hits and the lone run in the second to be the hard-luck loser.
Driskell threw 5.2 no-hit innings before making way for Corbin Hamrac to close out the game.
Brayden Quick's two-out single in the sixth was Jones' first hit.
Collin Haney and
Chesley Rhodes provided the other two.

Trailing 4-1 after three, the Bobcats plated four runs in the fourth and got a shutdown 3.1 innings from
Trevor Hodges to finish off the comeback win.
The Bucs manufactured their first three runs off a passed ball, hit-by-pitch and sacrifice fly.
Quick led off the fourth with a hit-by-pitch,
Warren Hutchinson walked and Haney singled to load the bases with no outs.
Walker Long then drew a pinch-hit, hit-by-pitch to make it 4-2 and
Kelan Guidry followed a batter later with a game-tying double.
Sanders Ainsworth's groundout plated the go-ahead run.
Cooper Rayburn logged 2.2 solid innings in relief to keep it a three-run game and would get the win. Hodges tossed the final 3.1 for his second career save, retiring the first nine he faced.
The Bobcats host Holmes and Itawamba on Tuesday in a round robin at Community Bank Park beginning at noon.
