SENATOBIA – No. 19 Jones hit a season-high 14 threes, five of them from
Jay Tyler, to roll to a 111-95 road win over Northwest Thursday night at Howard Coliseum.
The Bobcats moved to 19-7, 8-2 MACCC with the win and dropped NWCC to 13-9, 2-5 in conference play.
Jones held one of the league's top-scoring teams to 7-of-41 from beyond the arc.
Bob Dickson's dunk to start the game set the tone for Jones who never trailed on the night.
Brooks Roberts' pull-up three on a fastbreak pushed the lead to double figures for the first time, 24-13, at the 11:52-mark.
Jones led by as many as 18 in the period and a game-high 28 in the final three minutes.
The Cats shot 48 percent for the game, hitting 14-of-27 from beyond the arc.
Tyler was one of three Bobcats who scored 20-plus points with 23,
Braylon Barnes added 20,
Dylan Rowe 20,
Keron Jackson 17 and
Wesley Lindsey had a double-double with 16 and 10.
Jones hosts Co-Lin Monday night at 7:30.
