ELLISVILLE – Jones College used an 8-0 run in the final four minutes to overcome East Central 63-57 here Tuesday night at A.B. Howard Gymnasium.
 
The Bobcats improved to 13-3 overall, 2-1 in the MACCC. East Central falls to 3-11 and 0-3.
 
Jones trailed 52-49 with 3:55 remaining.

Larissa Hubbard (Harrison Central) made two free throws and Jakera Ducksworth (West Jones) followed with a layup with 2:49 left to give the Bobcats the lead for good at 53-52. 
 
A Ducksworth free throw and a three-point play by Anna-Patrice Patterson (Bay Springs) capped the run and put Jones ahead 57-52 with 31 seconds left.
 
The Bobcats led 22-15 after the first quarter and took its longest lead of the game at 24-15 with 9:02 to play in the second quarter when Hubbard made a jump shot. But the Lady Warriors fought back and tied the game 28-28 at halftime.
 
In the third quarter Ranyha Pruitt hit a 3-pointer with 16 seconds showing to give East Central a 46-45 lead heading into the final period.
 
Ducksworth led the Bobcats with 20 points and six rebounds. Hubbard had 14 points and five rebounds and Lamarah Cleaves (Tupelo) finished with 10 points. 
 
Charity Beemon had 13 points and 11 rebounds for East Central, A'Kiya Ratcliff added 12 and Raiyleigh Perry had 10.
 
Jones shot 40 percent from the field against 39 percent for EC.
 
The Bobcats overcame 27 turnovers and the Lady Warriors turned the ball over 23 times.
 
The Bobcats travel to Mississippi Delta for a 5:30 p.m. Thursday game.
