ELLISVILLE – Playing for the second time in a week, Jones knocked off Southwest 3-0 in 76 minutes Monday night to sweep the season series.
Jones improved to 13-1 overall, 8-1 MACCC and dropped the Bears to 3-13, 2-7.
The Bobcats registered their third-best hitting percentage of the season at .377 and committed just seven errors.
Jones got off to a hot start in the opening set, 8-1, and forced a quick Southwest timeout. They'd hold the Bears to a -.103 hitting percentage and match-high seven errors to win the first set 25-11.
Jones would go on to take the second and third sets 25-18 and 25-14.
Jensi Doise and
Harmony Jackson had eight kills apiece to lead JC.
Mamie Fromdahl, the MACCC Offensive Player of the Week, had 21 assists and
Claire Wicker added five assists, four aces and seven digs.
Alanah Fitch had five kills.
Olivia Guth,
Sara Akins and Wicker had seven digs each. Ten different Bobcats had at least one dig.
Jones makes the long trek north Wednesday night to face Northwest, 20-3, 8-1 MACCC. The Rangers handed the Bobcats their only loss of the year Sept. 22.
