SENATOBIA – Eleven days after dropping its first match of the year to Northwest, Jones got its revenge with a 3-0 sweep in Senatobia to take over sole possession of first place in the MACCC.
Jones improved to 14-1, 9-1 MACCC and dropped the Rangers to 20-4, 8-2 in league play.
Jones had its worst hitting performance of the season in the last matchup in Ellisville and committed a season-high 13 service errors in a four-set match.
Wednesday night at Howard Gymnasium, it was
Harmony Jackson and
Chelsea Daffin on the attack end that accounted for 28 of Jones' 44 kills in 25-23, 25-21 and 25-22 wins.
No Ranger finished with double digit kills.
Mamie Fromdahl, the reigning MACCC Offensive Player of the Week, tallied 39 assists,
Sara Akins 17 digs and
Claire Wicker 11.
Hailey Duque added six digs and a pair of service aces.
Jones hit .162 as a team and held the Rangers to a .067 percentage and 21 errors.
The Bobcats head to Gulf Shores, Alabama Oct. 3-4 for four non-conference matches and return to MACCC play on Monday at home against Meridian.
