HOLLY SPRINGS – Jones College began the 2025 fall season with a fourth-place finish in the Northwest Ranger Invitational here Aug. 25-26.
The Bobcats posted a 305-321 – 626 here at the Kirkwood National Golf Club. East Central won the 12-team event with a 605, followed by Meridian at 615 and Calhoun (Alabama) at 618. Hinds was fifth at 627, followed by Northwest at 628.
Individually, freshman
Bastian Graf (Germany) and sophomore
Josh Tombs (England) paced Jones. Graf had a 72-81 – 153 (+9) and Tombs posted a 74-79 – 153 to finish in a tie for tenth. Sophomore
Drew Groscost (Lewisburg) shot 78-79 – 157, sophomore
Walker Hall (Wayne Academy) had an 81-82 – 163, freshman
Julius Hautmann (Germany) fired an 81-84 –165 and freshman
Matthew Eubank (Petal) posted an 89-83 – 172.
Hinds' Stephen Faucheaux and East Central's Sam Arthur tied for medalist honors with each player posting a 146 (+2). EC's Harvey Underwood and Northwest's Atharv Sharma tied for third at 147 and Christopher Cain of Hinds posted a 149. Those five players made the All-Tournament Team.
The next tournament will be the Northeast Invitational Sept. 22-23 at Shiloh Ridge Golf Course in Corinth.
