ELLISVILLE – The Jones College men's golf team made history in the spring of 2025.
Fourth-year head coach
Bob Herrington's Bobcats became the first Jones team to qualify for the NJCAA Division II Tournament.
Jones finished third in the Gulf District Tournament at Tunica and advanced to the national tournament in Plymouth, Ind., where they finished 14th.
The Bobcats return three players from last year's team: sophomores
Drew Groscost (Lewisburg),
Walker Hall (Wayne Academy) and
Josh Tombs (England).
Groscost tied for 10th in the MACCC Tournament at Corinth and was named All-MACCC Second Team. He also made the All-Tournament Team at the Derrall Foreman Invitational in Cleveland and the MACCC Fall Preview at Tunica. Tombs also finished tied for 10th in the conference tournament.
Newcomers to the team will be
Matthew Eubank (Petal),
Bastian Graf (Germany) and
Julius Hautmann (Germany).
Gentry Barton returns for his third year as assistant coach.
The Bobcats open the season Aug. 25-26 at the Northwest Ranger Classic at Kirkwood National Golf Club in Holly Springs.
Jones will host the JC Invitational Nov. 10-11 at Laurel Country Club.
The Gulf District Championship is set for Castlewoods Country Club in Brandon April 27-29.
