CHARLOTTE – NJCAA No. 1 singles national champion
Matias Ruiz and No. 1 doubles national runners-up
Molly Bennett and
Helen Hernandez received deserved recognition from a pair of organizations this week.
Ruiz was tabbed both an NJCAA and ITA First Team All-American and Bennett and Hernandez grabbed second team doubles all-american honors from the NJCAA and landed on the ITA's first team. Hernandez was also named an ITA All-American at No. 1 singles.
Ruiz is the first player from Jones and the MACCC to claim a national title at No. 1 singles, going a remarkable 30-3 on the year.
The Buenos Aires, Argentina, native was the 2025 ITA Region III Sophomore of the Year, All-MACCC and MACCC Player of the Year. His two-year composite record was 53-7 at No. 1 singles and 49-7 at No. 1 doubles.
Bennett and Hernandez went 25-2 at No. 1 doubles and were ranked No. 2 in the final ITA rankings.
Hernandez was named the 2025 ITA Region III Sophomore Player of the Year, All-MACCC and MACCC Player of the Year after going 23-3 at No. 1 singles.
Jones claimed MACCC and NJCAA Region 23 Championships on both the women's and men's side. The women were ranked seventh in the final ITA rankings and the men 12th.
