JACKSON – The 10th-ranked Jones College Bobcats blanked the Millsaps Majors 7-0 here Sunday at the Montgomery Courts.
In No. 1 doubles,
Molly Bennett (Madison Central) and
Helen Hernandez (Venezuela) beat Mary Dabadie and Mackenzie Vordick, 8-1.
Theresa Emelio (Australia) and
Maria Martinez (Argentina) defeated Riley McClain and Alexis Oliver in No. 2 doubles, 8-2, and
Josie Tullos (Newton County) and
Ansley Tomkins (Northwest Rankin) downed Malakie Smith and Skylar Spinks in No. 3 doubles, 8-4.
Hernandez beat Dabadie in No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-1 and Bennett whipped Vordick in No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-1. Martinez downed McClain in No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-3 and Emelio beat Oliver in No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-3.
Annabelle Simmons (Lamar School) defeated Segen Lister in No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-3 and Tomkins downed Spinks in No. 6 singles, 7-6 (9-7), 6-3.
The Bobcats, 7-0, host Hinds at 2 p.m. Thursday.
