SCOOBA – Jones darted out to a 12-3 lead in the first four and a half minutes but then went ice cold in a 61-42 loss at Keyes T. Currie Coliseum Monday night.
The Bobcats have now lost 21 consecutive road games.
Jones, 4-15/1-6 MACCC, made six of its first seven shots and led the entire first quarter.
After a pair of Lady Lion free throws to open the second, EMCC took an 18-16 lead and would not relinquish it the rest of the night.
Jones made six field goals in the first five minutes and just nine the final three-plus quarters.
EMCC, 7-11/2-4 MACCC, led 29-21 at the half and stretched the lead to double digits early third quarter.
The Bobcats shot 24 percent, their second-worst outing of the year, including 0-for-18 from three-point range and 12-of-23 from the stripe.
Aasia Wilson was the lone Bobcat in double figures with 11.
Anna-Patrice Patterson had nine points and seven rebounds and
Zharia Leflore and
Larissa Hubbard chipped in eight apiece.
EMCC shot 33 percent but was plus-20 on the boards.
