Dimp Pernell scored a season-high 28 points and both
Ky Pernell and
LJ Hackman added 18 as No. 5 Jones rolled to a 91-70 win at Mississippi Delta Thursday night to sweep the home-and-home.
Winners of eight straight, Jones improved to 22-3, 8-1 MACCC. Delta dropped to 11-12, 4-6 in conference play.
The Trojans put the pressure on early and led 12-6 in the first four minutes.
Dimp hit one of his six threes to tie the game at 14-14 and another to give the Bobcats their first lead, 19-16. They would never trail again.
Jones took a 43-30 lead into intermission.
The hot shooting continued for the Bobcats the final 20 minutes as they'd hit 12 three-pointers and shoot 51 percent from the floor for the night.
It was highlight play after highlight play, one of the best coming after a steal and lob off the backboard from Hackman to
Kylan Howze for a slam to go up 64-40.
Jones forced MDCC into 23 turnovers that led to 20 steals, four each from the Pernell twins.
Jay Tyler scored 10 points off the bench to put a fourth Bobcat in double figures and Howze added seven points, six rebounds and four blocks.
Jones hosts Northeast, 23-3, 7-3 MACCC, Monday at 7:30 as part of Jack's Family Restaurant Night.
