ELLISVILLE – Wallace State-Selma scored the first basket Monday against Jones College.
But it was all Bobcats after that.
Six players scored in double figures as Jones crushed the Patriots, 107-48, here at A.B. Howard Gymnasium.
Jones improves to 10-1 on the season and WSSC drops to 1-9.
The Bobcats led 23-10 after the first quarter, 46-22 at halftime and 74-31 after three quarters.
Jones forced 42 turnovers and out-rebounded the Patriots, 47-35.
Jakera Ducksworth (West Jones) led the Bobcats with 17 points.
Lamarah Cleaves (Tupelo) had 15 points and 12 rebounds and
Zharia Leflore (Neshoba Central) had 12 points.
Larissa Hubbard (Harrison Central) had 11 points and seven rebounds.
Khalee Harrison (Yazoo County) and
Sanyla Smith (Tupelo) had 10 points each.
Anna-Patrice Patterson (Bay Springs) had nine points and eight rebounds and Smith had six assists. Harrison had seven steals and Leflore added five.
The Bobcats shot a season high 51 percent. The Patriots were 32 percent from the floor.
Jones outscored WSSC 60-24 on points in the paint, 61-12 on points off turnovers, 21-9 on second chance points, 38-4 on fast break points and 48-9 in points off the bench.
The Bobcats will play their final game before the Christmas break with a 5:30 p.m. game on Thursday at East Mississippi.
