Eleven different Bobcats score in 67-45 road win over Wallace-Selma

Wells scored a season-high 15 points

SELMA, Ala. – A 25-1 run midway through the first quarter and into the second helped Jones blow past Wallace State Community College-Selma Thursday night, 67-45.

Jones improved to 9-1 on the young season, already passing last year's win total. The Patriots fell to 1-8.

An 8-8 game midway through the first quarter, a 13-0 Bobcat run, started by a Zharia Leflore steal and fastbreak layup, gave Jones a 21-8 lead after a quarter. The Bobcats scored eight straight points of steals and ensuing layups and closed with nine steals in the opening 10 minutes.

The Bobcats didn't allow a Patriot field goal for nearly 10 minutes and opened up a 33-9 lead.

Jones closed the night with 20 steals, the third time this year with 20 or more.

The JC lead was 54-27 after three quarters.

Teeale Wells had a team and season-high 15 points. Leflore finished with nine, Sanyla Smith eight points and six boards and Anna-Patrice Patterson seven points.

Jones returns home on Monday to host the same Wallace State-Selma team at 5:30 p.m.
